Through the new dominant

  1. CC major
  2. D7D dominant seventh
  3. GG major

The D7 is the dominant of G major. Its leading note resolves towards the new tonic; this is a deliberate chromatic change, not a claim that every chord belongs to the old key.

A little more preparation

  1. CC major
  2. AmA minor
  3. D7D dominant seventh
  4. GG major

The minor supertonic prepares the dominant before the new major tonic. Try it at rehearsal; a distant key change may sound intentionally abrupt.

Or make a direct change

  1. CC major
  2. GG major

End clearly on C, pause, then establish G. Give the team the new key before restarting.
